Testing, Validation & Diagnostics
Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) plays a crucial role in evaluating vehicle safety, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and FCW (Forward Collision Warning) systems.
Virtual test driving with DYNA4 is the ideal way to prepare your function for Euro NCAP testing on the real test track. This allows you to test AEB and FCW functions in the simulation long before they are ready for series production and without real vehicle prototypes.
NCAP Testing Challenges
Euro NCAP AEB and FCW tests involve consistent and reproducible tests with other road users such as vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. These can only be carried out at great expense on a real test site.
- Preparation of "balloon cars" and "articulated pedestrian targets" to avoid endangering real road users
- Exact compliance with the test conditions, such as a dry, even, paved, level surface, temperature, brightness, wind and much more.
- Of course, the test vehicle also has to be extensively prepared.

Advantages of Virtual Testing
- Start easily: Use the fully pre-configured NCAP scenarios in DYNA4 for automated testing and reporting
- Fail fast: Lower development costs through correction of malfunctions early in the ADAS/AD development process
- Improve safety: Simulation of critical traffic and collision scenarios without harm
- Be compatible: Use the NCAP scenarios from DYNA4 in the OpenSCENARIO standard format
