Data Protection Information on the Production and Publication of Photo and Video Recordings

At Vector's internal and external events, photographs and/or video recordings (hereinafter “Images”) are taken. These Images may contain visual recordings of persons attending the event, whereby the selection of persons is random. By registering for or participating in an event, you consent to the publication of the Images free of charge for the above-mentioned purposes, without the need for an express declaration by you.

Below we inform you on how we process your data in this context and how you can exercise the rights to which you are entitled under the General Data Protection Regulation.

General Information on Processing

The production of Images and their subsequent publication on our websites and social media channels, in print media (e.g. newspapers), press releases and in presentations is carried out for public relations, marketing purposes, corporate communication and customer loyalty.

The legal basis for the production of Images is your implied consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) through your participation in the event after prior information. The legal basis for the subsequent publication of recordings may – depending on the motif – be your written or implied consent by posing in front of the camera (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or – when photographing or filming of a crowd – our legitimate interest for the purposes of public relations, marketing, corporate communication and customer loyalty (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR in conjunction with Section 23 para. 1 no. 3 KunstUrhG). Your rights will be taken into account appropriately during production and publication. Images that could have an embarrassing or offensive effect will not be published.

If, in individual cases, you do not consent to the production of Images, please inform the photographer or contact marketing@vector.com immediately. After publication, e.g. on our website, you can object to the further publication of Images in which you are pictured at any time. To do so, please contact us immediately by emailing to marketing@vector.com with the exact title of the relevant Image. The Images will be removed from the relevant platform and deleted within a reasonable period of time. In the case of publication in print media, a photo can only be removed when a new edition is published.

Your personal data will be processed for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned purposes or applicable legal provisions, until you withdraw your consent or object to the processing.

To publish the Images, the data is passed on to our web service provider, the service providers of our social media channels (e.g. Facebook) or to a print shop, for example.

Your Rights

We would like to point out that you have the right at any time – in some cases under certain conditions – to

  • request information about the processing of your data,
  • have your data corrected,
  • have your data deleted or blocked,
  • have the processing restricted,
  • object to the processing of your data,
  • receive your data in a transferable format and transmit it to a third party,
  • revoke your consent to the processing of your data for the future and
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority about unauthorized data processing.

Use on the Internet

When Images are published on the Internet, they can be accessed and stored at any time and anywhere in the world. The data can therefore also be found via so-called “search engines”. It cannot be ruled out that other persons or companies may link the data with other personal data available on the Internet and thus create a personality profile, change the data or use it for other purposes.
