ADAS/AD
Driver assistance systems – also known as ADAS – enhance driving safety and improve comfort. They are a key component on the path to autonomous driving (AD). A crucial factor for success is the ability to fully perceive the surrounding environment. This includes reliably estimating traffic situations. Sensors capture data on the vehicle’s surroundings, and control units then merge and analyze this data.
Measurement & Logging
ADAS applications involve a wide variety of sensors and cameras, whose data must be recorded in addition to the data from the control units. The challenge here is to store large amounts of data synchronously, in a cost- and time-efficient manner, while ensuring data protection compliance and security. The next step involves using powerful analysis tools to evaluate the captured data. However, requirements can vary significantly depending on the individual test setup. Scalable, flexible systems for logging and data processing provide an ideal basis for meeting these challenges.
Analysis, Simulation & Testing
A consistent approach for ADAS combines real sensor data, simulation, and hardware testing into the validation workflow. Recorded data is reused for reproducible analysis, complemented by virtual scenarios to achieve high test coverage. The tests are conducted using a continuous tool chain ranging from SIL to HIL. The advantages: early, reliable validation across all development stages while reducing effort, cost, and risk.
