CANoe MedTech is the versatile software solution for developing, analyzing, and testing individual software components or subsystems, as well as electronic devices and networked MedTech systems.
The testing spectrum ranges from software-in-the-loop (SIL) in virtual execution environments on computers, via virtual machines or in the cloud, to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) on prototype or real target hardware.
CANoe MedTech is a specialized version of the reliable CANoe software. While based on the CANoe software solution, it is a stand-alone product tailored specifically to the requirements of medical technology development.
CANoe MedTech Is Now Certified for Safety Projects
Reduced Tool Qualification Effort for Safety-Related Systems in MedTech Systems
CANoe MedTech has received a safety certification from TÜV SÜD, making it available for developing and testing safety-related systems. The certificate covers the general standard IEC 61508, as well as the specific standards ISO 26262 for automotive, IEC 62304 for medtech, and EN 50716 for railways. Users benefit from reduced audit effort, greater investment security, and a reliable basis for tool-related safety verifications.

Benefits
- End-to-end development and testing from a single source:
CANoe MedTech covers the entire development lifecycle: from planning and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) testing to Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and system testing. This provides you with consistent workflows throughout the process. - Efficient test automation with high reusability:
Test cases created once can be reused across all project phases, significantly accelerating your testing processes and improving long-term efficiency.
- Early error detection through realistic simulation:
By simulating fault conditions in the early stages of development, you identify and resolve issues sooner, avoiding costly corrections later in the project. - Reduced effort for safety compliance and audits:
CANoe MedTech is TÜV-certified for use in safety-related projects in accordance with IEC 62304. This significantly reduces the effort required for tool qualification and audit preparation
Application Areas
- Developing connected medical systems
From individual devices to complete system architectures – develop, integrate, and validate functions across the entire system landscape. - Simulating and analyzing system environments
Virtually model sensors, actuators, and communication partners to gain transparency into the behavior of complex systems. - Validating software early (SIL)
Detect errors and deviations in virtual test environments long before the target hardware becomes available. - Testing systems under realistic conditions (HIL)
Validate the interaction of software and hardware and increase the quality of the complete system. - Ensuring interoperability
Test communication and ensure seamless interaction between devices, protocols, and products from different manufacturers.

Test Your Software With SIL and HIL at the System Level
Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) are two powerful concepts for system-level testing. Use them to increase your development efficiency, improve your software quality, and shorten your time to market.
