
The cube:tap interface supports the reception and transmission of 3GPP LTE-V2X (PC5) frames, which are used for the implementation of Car2X/V2X applications. The built-in GNSS receiver provides the current time and position. All time stamps provided are synchronized by UTC time.

Application Areas
The cube:tap interface fulfills all hardware requirements for testing LTE-V2X applications via 3GPP LTE-V2X (PC5) radio channels. Car2x applications based on the DSRC standard are covered by the VN4610 interface. Of course, both interfaces can be operated in parallel.
Analysis
The cube:tap interface forwards all received radio frames unfiltered to the test tool for analysis CANoe.Car2x or CANalyzer.Car2x. This means that frames that would be rejected by a control unit due to timing, geo-information or Car2X/V2X protocol errors can also be analyzed.
Simulation/Stimulation
Together with the cube:tap, CANoe.Car2x offers a perfectly coordinated solution for creating an environmental stimulation for testing Car2X/V2X applications. The cube:tap sends the transmitted frames, whereby the communication parameters can be easily and individually configured for the different tests.
Synchronization
The cube:tap interface provides precise position, time and speed information that can be used by the application as a test stimulus or for documentation purposes, for example. The absolute GNSS time stamps can be used to synchronize the recordings of distributed measurements during subsequent analysis.

How it Works
The cube:tap transmits in powerful ad-hoc mode, in which all radio frames are transmitted immediately. The available time slots are used optimally and without delay. Thanks to the flexible configuration of the source layer ID, several ITS stations can be simulated - without any additional hardware. This means you have several virtual transmission stations available with just one device. For the best possible results, we recommend using a single cube:tap in the test setup, as parallel transmission of multiple devices in ad hoc mode can impair communication.
