Chassis Control Testing with DYNA4

The simulation environment with proven models for cars and commercial vehicles.

DYNA4 is the comprehensive vehicle dynamics simulation software for closed-loop testing of chassis control systems. The simulation environment for virtual test drives contains proven models for cars and commercial vehicles.

Using virtual prototypes in DYNA4, you can test new control units in all development phases in a complete vehicle: from conceptual function design on the PC (MIL, SIL) to validation and approval with real-time tests on hardware-in-the-loop systems (HIL).

Advantages

  • Start earlier with frontloading: testing and development of ECU functions in early stages
  • Safe testing in critical driving maneuvers, including near crash situations or vulnerable road users
  • Enhance test coverage: Parameter variations and variants handling for thousands of automated test drives
  • Weather independence: reproducible environment conditions with rain, snow, fog, wind etc.
  • Traceability of test runs through management and versioning of simulation input and output
  • Seamless integration into your tool chain:  DYNA4 uses standards as OpenDRIVE, OSI, XiL API, MDF and OpenSCENARIO

Application Areas

Development and Test of Control Functions:

  • Stability control: Electronic stability control (ABS, ASR, ESC), active roll compensation, roll-over protection, trailer stabilization, etc.
  • Ride comfort: Damper and active suspension control
  • Steering control: Power steering, rear-wheel steering, superposition steering, steer-by-wire
  • Cars, commercial and agricultural vehicles with up to two trailers
  • Interaction and communication of networked ECUs, e.g. ADAS control and chassis ECUs
  • ECU diagnostics
  • Driving simulators
  • Component test rigs: Real steering, brake or damper rigs in the loop
