Highlights:

  • Particularly suitable for use in test fleets due to automatic data transfer
  • Transfer of selected logged data is configurable
  • Support of universal SIM cards (SIM card not included in delivery)

Measurement Technology

Analog Board

Analog Board

Extend the analog inputs of the GL3400, GL5350 and GL5370 with a built-in Analog Board.

  • 8 differential, unipolar analog inputs
  • Voltage range 0 V ... 18 V
  • Resolution 12 bit
  • Precision 0,2 %
  • Sampling rate 1 kHz for each channel

VX1000

With the GL3400, GL5350 or GL5370 and the VX measurement hardware, you can record internal ECU signals, including variables and parameters, as well as bus communication. The ECU signals are measured using a POD (plug-on device). The logger connects to the VX module via XCP on Ethernet.

  • XCP on Ethernet for higher data rates than XCP on the vehicle bus
  • Data transmission via DAQ mode
  • Support of ECUs with serial PODs

CSM

The measurement modules of the CSM product family extend the built-in measurement channels of the GL Loggers. They additionally enable the measurement of temperatures, larger voltage ranges, pressure, etc. Different measurement modules are available depending on the measuring task.
Values are acquired via CAN measurement modules. Measurements with higher bandwidth are performed with EtherCAT® measurement modules. For the measurement of high-voltage components, special HV measurement modules are available.

CAN measurement modules:

  • Acquisition of temperature, voltage, pressure, current or acceleration
  • Connection direct at CAN bus
  • Alternatively, connection at CSM XCP-Gateway e.g. together with EtherCAT® modules

EtherCAT® measurement modules:

  • Measuring with higher data throughput, e.g. analog voltages with up to 1 MHz (for measurements >100 kHz GL3400 and GL5000 family is recommended)
  • Connection via CSM XCP-Gateway at the Ethernet interface of the logger

High-Voltage measurement modules:

  • Certified high-voltage insulation test including cabling (reinforced insulation up to 846 V)
  • Voltages up to 2 kV, currents up to 800 A

The LINprobe converts incoming LIN frames to CAN. The identifier and baud rate is configurable. There are three different variants of the LINprobe:

  • LINprobe R receives LIN frames.
  • LINprobe X receives and sends LIN frames. When sending, LINprobe X serves as either Master or Slave.
  • LINprobe G receives and sends LIN frames, like LINprobe X. In addition, it can be used as a simple standalone CAN/LIN gateway.

Remote Controls

VoCAN

The VoCAN can be used with all GL Loggers except the GL1000 series to comment on events during recording in audio format. The GL3400, GL5350 and GL5370 models can also output voice messages, for example to provide information or instructions for the driver.

Highlights

  • Voice recording via directional microphone in WAV format with date and clock time
  • Voice output from WAV files saved in the logger
  • Output of a signal tone
  • Indicate status information by 4 user-programmable LEDs
  • Activate pushbuttons to trigger an event, e.g. to start voice recording or to initiate a trigger

CASM2T3L / CAS1T3L

The compact remote controls CAS1T3L or CASM2T3L enable the display of states and the triggering of events via pushbutton for all GL Loggers except the GL1000 series. With the CASM2T3L, comments can additionally be assigned to triggers. These comments are stored during recording in audio format. The round devices can be easily mounted in a cup holder.

  • Display of status information via the 3 freely programmable LEDs
  • Pressing the red button to trigger an additional event
  • Additionally for CASM2T3L: Voice recording in WAV format with date and time pressing the black button to start voice recording
    • Voice recording in WAV format with date and time
    • Pressing the black button to start voice recording

Power Management

GLA710

The GLA710 can be used as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for the GL3400 and GL5000 family for the following use cases:

  • In case of unstable power supply the GLA710 bridges power outages to allow seamless recordings.
  • In case of an unexpected system shutdown the GLA710 allows to save all data i. e. also data from the ring buffer, and to shut down the logger afterwards in an orderly manner.
