MICROSAR HSM
MICROSAR HSM is Vector's firmware for Hardware Security Modules (HSM) integrated in microcontrollers with a secure core. It runs cryptographic services on the HSM, manages keys in protected memory, and verifies your ECU at boot, without loading the host processor.
You use MICROSAR HSM in automotive ECUs that handle secure boot, secure onboard communication, secure software updates or TLS-protected off-board communication. The firmware runs on HSMs from a range of semiconductor manufacturers and integrates seamlessly with Vector’s MICROSAR Classic, and the MICROSAR Bootloader. You configure it with the same tool you use for the rest of your stack: DaVinci Configurator Classic.
Key Benefits at a Glance
- Cryptography up to 100x faster than software
Hardware-accelerated calculation on the HSM offloads the host CPU and removes cryptography as a runtime bottleneck. - Modular firmware with full source code access
Adapt memory footprint and runtime to your project, debug at source level, and implement OEM-specific requirements without proprietary detours.
- Certified and ready for what comes next
ISO/SAE 21434 certified. Post-Quantum Cryptography compatible. Aligned with UN R155 / CSMS.
