
The VN1600 interface family provides flexible and fast access to CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL and LIN networks.
Depending on the variant, it supports compact mobile setups or high‑performance multi‑channel applications with IO functionality and various host connections.

Bus analysis
VN1600 interfaces are suitable for analyzing CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL and LIN networks.
They support investigation of communication behavior and bus conditions throughout different development stages.
Remaining bus simulation
The interfaces enable simple to complex remaining bus simulations.
This allows realistic reproduction of network scenarios in the lab, on test benches or in vehicles.
Diagnostics, calibration and flashing
VN1600 devices support diagnostic, calibration and flashing tasks.
They can be used in combination with tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, Indigo and vFlash.
Multi application operation
Multi‑application support allows multiple programs to access one device and the same channel in parallel.
This enables concurrent use of different tools within one setup.
Logging of vehicle communication
The VN1630 log extends the VN1600 family with integrated recording functionality.
It allows logging of CAN, CAN FD and LIN data to observe vehicle communication.

VN1600 Family
- Flexible FPGA‑based CAN and LIN implementation allows 100 % bus load on all channels.
- Maximum bitrates:
- CAN up to 2 Mbit/s
- CAN FD up to 8 Mbit/s
- CAN XL up to 20 Mbit/s
- LIN up to 115 kBit/s (higher bitrates are possible depending on wiring)
- Host connection via USB
VN1610 / VN1611 / VN1630A / VN1630 log / VN1640A
- Support of CAN / CAN FD and LIN.
- Execution of LIN 2.1 conformance tests with CANoe.
- Integrated IO functionality enables synchronous acquisition of signals together with CAN / LIN messages and switching of loads up to 500 mA via a digital output.
- To reduce weight and size, the interfaces feature integrated CAN high‑speed transceivers with dual‑assigned D‑SUB9 connectors.
- VN1630 log provides a simple recording function for CAN / CAN FD / LIN. Data is stored on an SD / SDHC card with a capacity of up to 32 GB.
VN1641
- Support of CAN / CAN FD / CAN XL.
- CAN XL support with Error Signaling Enabled and Error Signaling Disabled modes.
- Host connection via USB 3 or Ethernet.
VN1670
- Support of CAN / CAN FD / CAN XL and LIN.
- Digital and analog IOs provided via the VNpiggy30 IO 8644.
