The VN4610 is a specialized solution for IEEE 802.11p‑ and CAN (FD)‑based Car2X / V2X applications and supports transmission and reception of IEEE 802.11p frames.
The IEEE 802.11p‑based dedicated short‑range communication (DSRC) operates in the 5.9 GHz frequency band, and the VN4610 provides precise time and position data via an integrated GNSS receiver.
Highlights
- IEEE 802.11p communication: Transmission and reception of IEEE 802.11p frames via two configurable WLAN radio channels.
- Unfiltered data analysis: Unfiltered forwarding of all received IEEE 802.11p frames to the application for extended analysis and debugging.
- Precise time and position base: GNSS‑based time and position data with highly precise time stamps (1 µs accuracy).
- Synchronized measurement setups: Time synchronization with multiple interfaces and other bus systems including PTP according to IEEE 1588.
- Integrated vehicle interfaces: Two CAN high‑speed channels (CAN FD capable) and analog/digital IO functionality in a robust housing.
Main Application Areas
Analysis
The VN4610 forwards all received radio frames from both IEEE 802.11p channels unfiltered to the test tool.
This enables analysis of frames that would otherwise be discarded by ECUs due to timing, geo information or protocol conditions.
Simulation / Stimulation
Together with CANoe .Car2x, the VN4610 enables creation of environment simulations for Car2X / V2X applications.
Communication parameters can be flexibly configured for different test scenarios.
GNSS Receiver
The VN4610 provides precise position, time and speed information.
These data can be used as test stimulus or for documentation and post‑analysis of measurements.
Time Synchronization
The VN4610 supports precise time synchronization using PTP according to IEEE 1588.
It can be configured as a PTP master with a UTC time base provided by the integrated GNSS receiver.
