VN7640

Interface for CAN FD, LIN and FlexRay

Due to its wide range of channel combinations, the VN7640 is a powerful interface designed for laboratory and engineering workstations. 
Its compact and robust design also makes the interface suitable for mobile applications.

Main Application Areas

Remaining bus simulation, analysis and testing

VN7640 supports remaining bus simulation as well as analysis and testing of networks and ECUs in combination with CAN FD, LIN (K‑Line) and FlexRay. In addition, the included libraries allow the creation of custom applications.

Diagnostics and ECU flashing

VN7640 is suitable for diagnostic tasks and flashing of ECUs.

Measurement and calibration via XCP

VN7640 enables measurement and calibration of ECUs via XCP, including XCP on FlexRay and XCP on CAN.

Functions

CAN / LIN

  • Support for CAN FD up to 8 Mbit/s. 
  • Fast CAN flashing through hardware‑based flash sequence support  
  • Extended LIN stress functions, e.g. for LIN 2.1 conformance tests. 

FlexRay

  • Detection of invalid frames.
  • Support for cycle multiplexing and in‑cycle response.
  • PDU support and FlexRay gateway functionality (channel A).
  • Startup and asynchronous monitoring to detect FlexRay frames and symbols before controller synchronization.

General

  • Host PC connection via USB or Ethernet. 
  • Synchronization with multiple devices and additional bus systems such as CAN FD, FlexRay, LIN and J1708. 
  • CAPL‑on‑Board for CAN FD, FlexRay, LIN and IO
Accessories
A wide range of accessories are available for the VN7640, including cables, connectors, bus transceivers (piggybacks), mounting accessories, and various power supply options.
