CANape Option vCDM connects the local Dataset Management of CANape or vCDMstudio to the central database of vCDM.
Calibration projects created with Option vCDM provide the core to work in teams without data conflicts. In addition - dataset manager can use the separate software vCDMcenter to create projects that offer the complete scope of feature of vCDM. The Vector calibration data management solution vCDM coordinates collaboration in large teams distributed across the globe.

Functions
Users work with CANape’s data set administration to share and manage data sets efficiently. Data sets can be shared with colleagues, downloaded directly into CANape, and updated continuously. Changes made locally can be uploaded to the network, while updates from other users are synchronized to the local PC. Conflicts caused by simultaneous changes are detected immediately and resolved by the user. All parameter changes are traceable, including who made them and when.
Sharing Data Sets
Users can quickly share data sets directly from the CANape interface.
After creating and editing one or more data sets locally, users select “Share data sets” in the ribbon, choose the relevant data sets and colleagues, and upload them to the server.
The server can run within the company network or in the Vector Cloud. Shared data sets are marked with a dedicated icon in CANape, indicating their availability both locally and on the server.
Loading Data Sets in CANape
Users can easily access shared data sets. Instead of manually creating new entries for A2L and HEX files, a device including its A2L and data set can be loaded from the server to the local PC with just a few clicks and made available for editing.
Exchanging Changed Parameter Values
Shared data sets can be edited by multiple users. Local changes are visible on the user’s PC and can be uploaded to the server via “Upload changes.” The latest changes from colleagues can be retrieved using “View current status.”
Sharing Parameter Sets
Changes are exchanged between vCDM projects as parameter set files and can be imported into multiple vCDM data sets. If work packages are defined in vCDM, CANape exports changed parameters into the exchange file and completes the entire work package.
Handling Parameter Conflicts
If the same parameter is modified simultaneously, CANape detects a conflict during synchronization.
Conflicts are displayed in the “Merge in resolve conflict view” and can be resolved by selecting the appropriate value.
Adding More Data Sets
CANape data set projects can contain both local and shared data sets. Local data sets can be shared at any time.
Changes History on the Server
The server records all parameter changes and displays them in the Changes History. Users can see which parameters were changed, by whom, and when.
Differences between CANape Option vCDM and vCDMcenter
CANape Option vCDM can create calibration projects in the vCDM. However dataset manager using the vCDMcenter can create projects that provide the full scope of vCDMs capabilities.
