The vCTS.performance is a scalable Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test system, co-designed by Vector and EA Elektro-Automatik. It executes charging communication tests for EV and EVSE. It meets the very high-power requirements of MCS (Megawatt Charging System) and supports other charging standards. The available high power also enables load and endurance tests.
Advantages
- Comprehensive HIL system tests to ensure conformity and interoperability of charging communication as well as load and endurance tests with high charging power
- Scalable provision of up to 3.84 MW regenerative DC charging power with recovering energy back into the grid
- Seamless testing solution with optimized design for execution of CANoe Test Package EV and EVSE, including integration to vTESTstudio workflow
- Turnkey hardware which supports all standards, EV and EVSE testing and includes cooling system for charging cables

Application Areas
The vCTS.performance conducts fully automated conformance and interoperability tests on EVs or EVSEs at full rated power.
Compared to the vCTS, the vCTS.performance provides up to 3.84 MW DC power. Tests for both vCTS and vCTS.performance are based on the CANoe Test Packages EV and EVSE according to the specifications of the CCS, NACS, MCS, GB/T and CHAdeMO charging standards, with a focus on electric charging communication. The vCTS.performance is controlled by test automation via CANoe, which provides straightforward simulation and powerful integration of both CANoe Test Package EV and CANoe Test Package EVSE.

Key Features
Depending on the required power, the vCTS.performance consists of one Master Rack and several Extension Racks. With this setup a maximum DC power of 3.84 MW can be provided, scalable in steps of 60 kW with single bidirectional power supplies from EA Elektro-Automatik.

Product Description
The vCTS.performance hardware supports the following standards:
- CCS
- MCS
- NACS
- GB/T
- CHAdeMO
