vCTS

Vector Charging Test System for Charging Communication

vCTS (Vector Charging Test System) tests the charging communication of electric vehicles and electric charging stations. You switch charging accessories such as cables or inlets in less than a minute, so you can adapt the test system to different Devices Under Test (DUTs) and charging standards.

CANoe Test Package EV and CANoe Test Package EVSE integrate seamlessly into vCTS as a hardware platform for executing conformance tests.

Advantages

  • Turnkey solution with optimized setup for execution of CANoe Test Packages EV and EVSE, including integration in vTESTstudio workflow
  • Exchangeable cassette system for quick and easy installation of required charging accessories like charging cables and inlets
  • Flexible one-for-all test system supports all DUTs (EV, EVSE) and charging standards (CCS, NACS, MCS, GB/T, CHAdeMO)
  • Mobile and compact one-rack communications test system with 30 kW DC power (21 kW AC power optional)

Application Areas

The vCTS is designed for the execution of conformance and interoperability tests of electrical charging communication between vehicles and charging stations. The tests are based on the CANoe Test Packages EV and EVSE according to the specifications of the CCS, NACS, MCS, GB/T and CHAdeMO charging standards with focus on electric charging communication. The vCTS is controlled by a test automation via CANoe which offers a simple straight forward simulation and the powerful integration of both CANoe Test Package EV and CANoe Test Package EVSE.

Key Features

The vCTS includes a 30 kW bi-directional DC power supply. You can connect external AC power via a local AC grid installation or an external AC power supply, and you can add an optional 21 kW AC grid emulator.

All common standards for EV testing (CCS, NACS, MCS, GB/T, CHAdeMO) and EVSE testing (CCS, NACS, MCS) are supported. With the cassette system and extensive range of accessories, the test system can be adapted to the DUT very quickly and easily.

The test system is designed for both EV and EVSE as the DUT. The cassette mechanism lets the operator switch between charging standards quickly and easily. It forms the basis for connection within the test system and supports different AC or DC charging cables as well as different types of inlets.

Accessories

The vCTS is designed for both EV and EVSE as the DUT. Therefore, a quick and easy cassette mechanism supports the operator to test different charging standards. This mechanism is the basis for connection within the test system, providing the possibility to connect the different AC or DC charging cables or to provide the different types of inlets.
