vSECC.single
vSECC.single is a compact DIN rail charging controller for wallbox and single-port charging station manufacturers developing AC or DC charging products. It handles the complete charging communication stack from IEC 61851 and ISO 15118-20 on the vehicle side to OCPP 1.6, OCPP 2.0.1 and OCPP 2.1 toward the backend, so development teams can focus on hardware design and user experience rather than protocol implementation. Designed for slim wallboxes, compact charging cabinets and space-critical installations.
Many Interfaces. One Controller.
vSECC.single bridges separate communication worlds from a single piece of hardware: the vehicle, the backend, the power electronics, and the local user interface. Each layer runs its own protocols, and the controller handles all of them.

Vehicle Communication
vSECC.single manages both AC and DC charging communication from a single controller. For DC, the communication stack covers DIN SPEC 70121, ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-20 including Plug & Charge, bidirectional DC BPT and HomePlug GreenPHY PLC over CCS or NACS. AC charging follows IEC 61851-1 and SAE J1772, with high-level communication via ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-20 including AC DER for bidirectional AC use cases. A cable lock output for AC charging stations is included.

Backend Communication
vSECC.single connects to charging station management systems via OCPP 1.6, OCPP 2.0.1 (IEC 63584) and OCPP 2.1 (in development) over Ethernet. For fleet applications, communication with value-added service servers is possible via HTTP(S)/FTP, for example to enable bus preconditioning according to VDV 261. Status information about the charging process is published via MQTT, suitable for local displays or monitoring systems. Remote software updates via OCPP keep the controller current with evolving standards.

Station Integration and Power Control
vSECC.single communicates with power electronics over CAN or Ethernet, translating negotiated charging parameters into power electronics commands. A dedicated emergency line provides a safety path independent of the main communication channel. Two temperature sensor inputs (PT 1000) allow continuous thermal monitoring within the charging station. Local station hardware can be connected through discrete and MQTT-based interfaces, including LEDs, RFID readers, displays and payment terminals.
Why vSECC.single?
- Compact: Designed for Slim Chargers
At 22.5 mm wide in DIN rail housing, vSECC.single fits directly into the control cabinet of a wallbox or charging station without compromise on footprint. Spring terminal connectors eliminate the need for mating plugs, reducing assembly cost and the physical depth needed for wiring. The 12 V DC industrial power supply integrates into standard industrial control cabinet designs. vSECC.single +70 °C uses a wider housing at 45.2 mm to accommodate the extended temperature range hardware. - Versatile: AC and DC From One Hardware Platform
One controller covers both AC and DC charging points including CCS and NACS. All major charging standards including IEC 61851-1/-23, SAE J1772, DIN SPEC 70121, ISO 15118-2/-3 and ISO 15118-20 are supported, including bidirectional charging. Fleet-specific capabilities such as VDV 261 bus preconditioning and OCPP reduce integration effort for manufacturers targeting fleet depot and commercial charging applications alongside residential and public use.
- Certified and Compliant: Internationally Certified and AFIR-Ready From One Hardware Design
vSECC.single holds necessary certifications for European, UK, North American and Korean markets. It provides ready-to-use support for ISO 15118 (Plug & Charge), enabling manufacturers to meet upcoming EU requirements. The standard variant of this controller has operating range from -40 °C to +50 °C, while the extended temperature variant handles demanding thermal environments between -40 °C and +70 °C.
vSECC.single and vSECC.single +70°C: Choosing the Right Variant

Standard Variant
Operating ambient temperature from -40 °C to +50 °C. The compact 22.5 mm DIN rail housing and low weight of approximately 148 g make it an ideal choice for standard wallbox and charging station designs, supporting reliable operation at ambient temperatures up to +50 °C.
